How Wireless IEEE 802.11B works
1. Select an ISP service level:(K/Sec)
A. Dial up - 28.8 up to 56
B. ISDN - 128
C. DSL - 200 to 500
D. Cable - 200 to 500
E. Broadband - 300 to 500
F. Frame Relay-T1 or greater 64 to 1500

2. The selected ISP is connected to the wireless access point.

Q. How fast is IEEE 802.11B?
A. The speed from a DHCP client to an access point, or from one access point to another access point will be 11 Mbps. The speed from an access point to the internet will be limited by the slowest point from the access point to the ISP but will not exceed 11 Mbps.

Q. How do I setup a computer to use a wireless internet connection?
A. Two part answer: 1. Hardware: Cards are readily available to use a PCMCIA interface or ISA or PCI to access the wireless network. Most laptops will have a PCMCIA slot built into them and Desktop machines typically use ISA or PCI. (The current prices are $300.00 and below). 2. Software Configuration. The simplest TCP/IP configuration is DHCP. Simply select DHCP as the TCP/IP configuration to use. This is the easiest to use because the configuration is controlled by the wireless access point.

Q. How many computers can access a wireless access point?
A. The current limit is 2048 per wireless access point at any one time.
